after some online photo galleries for latimes.com (cirque berzerk, santacon, new years, etc) and a bunch of metromix shoots, last week i had my first opportunity to shoot a print story for the new la times mag, brand x, which is now out in a kiosk near you! some of the photos on the venice fixed-gear bike scene are above and you can check out the article (by alexandra le tellier) and gallery on latimes.com.
I photographed the MusiCares MAP benefit concert honoring Anthony Kiedis for LA Weekly. The concert featured performances by Kiedis and the Chili Peppers, Iggy Pop, DJ AM, and members of the Rolling Stones, Sex Pistols, Neville Brothers, etc. Check out my photos on laweekly.com: Nikki Darling's article, my photo gallery, and Erin Broadley's weekend round up.
H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Everywhere) is an amazing organization of artists who (as you can probably guess from the name) have all kinds of exciting projects in the US and abroad. This charity poker tournament was to raise money for their trip to Kenya this month (which I was almost lucky enough to go on).
v and fernando threw their annual cinco de mayo pool party at the standard hollywood featuring dj performances by jose galvan and pony-vs-tiger (performing again tonight at r bar!), and smart water sent me out to cover the event. mad love to jr and vanessa for their impromptu pool and cartwheel modeling sessions!
