Scion's monthly house party moved over to Vanguard from The Viper Room and expanded from 300 guests to almost 1000! 2 Many DJ's rocked the new venue well past closing time (after opening DJ's Villains and Acid Girls). Check a slide show of the madness.
This months Scion gallery was curated by Giant Robot and featured an extra large Rubix Cube and a paint by numbers wall along with lots of other interesting art and people. Check the slide show for more photos!
"Today is the Day" and "Withered" rocked the latest Scion metal show at the Echo. My ears are still ringing which will help remind me to bring ear plugs next time.
My second shoot for The LA Times took me to Anaheim for a huge club opening featuring DJ AM. Check page E11 of the July 31st edition of the LA Times for the published photo and the article and gallery can be seen here:
I set up a photo booth at Ryan and Dani's gorgeous wedding as a favor to Ryan's brother Kevin Staniec. Guests filtered in and I took some portraits of them before the ceremony... then it was off to Anaheim for my LA Times shoot!

I met Kyler when I photographed her band The Rescues as they opened for my friends Raining Jane. She and I decided to set up a portrait shoot for her new solo album cover and above is one of the photos from the session... I'm excited to see how it comes out and will add the final cover once her graphic designer completes it.

I got a message from my friend Aras about an upcoming block party to celebrate the arts and had no idea what was in store when I showed up to photograph. An amazing group of talented and beautiful people (volunteers and guests) were all raising money for the Cheshire Project, which is basically a summer camp for those with disabilities. Watching Damien Rice perform an acoustic song with background singing from the campers and seeing everybody dancing and singing together helped reaffirm that there is a lot of good in this world after all.
ADI threw a sweet event at Republic and asked me to set up a photo booth for their guests. We had a lot of fun with signs and props (thanks Tara!) so check out the slide show and you can buy prints from a gallery here:
Odacious has added a few new styles to their first run of Obama shirts. They are available for purchase at www.odacious.com and I had my talented friend Nicole join the good looking combo of JJ and his brother to show them off.
Sarah and Dave got married at a beautiful beach resort in San Diego and asked me to come take some photos of the rehearsal, cruise party and to set up a portrait station for their guests. It was fun, beautiful and relaxing. Here's a slide show and you can email me for access to the print galleries.

Raining Jane rolled back to LA after 5 months on the road for their CD release part at Molly Malone's.
The last time I photographed them was in Boston at the end of our 10 day stint in Sara Bareille's tour bus and it was great to see them all again, feel the positive energy and hear the great music. The rest of the lineup included The Rescues and Jesse Payo. Slide show:
Izzy from the art crew The Bagavagabonds contacted me about photographing his girlfriend's charity event Sunday night. I quoted him a price and headed straight to King Kings after the Scion auction to document the event for them. After watching the videos about the school and seeing all the generous
and amazing people who were donating to help out these kids, I realized there was no way I could charge them for my services. The night ended beautifully with Ben Lee ending his set with an acoustic chorus of "We're all in this together" as the entire crowd sang along with him. Truly a touching evening. Slide show:
Scion auctioned off 40 pieces of beautiful art at their latest art gallery auction in Culver City.
DJ Matter blessed us with some tunes, Ian did his best impression of Vannah White, and free wine and appetizers kept the bidders happy as they battled over some of the most popular pieces. Slide Show:

Day two's show was even better, with a lively audience and a passionate performance by the legendary band. Look for that DVD in a few months and hopefully one of these photos will grace the cover!
Day one of the $200 per ticket Hall and Oates reunion show shot for Blaze TV's upcoming DVD on the duo. The Troubadour proved a perfect venue for the intimate performance (Hall and Oates first show in LA was at The Troubadour 35 years ago and they hadn't been back since). Slide Show:
After 7 days of fashion production it was time to shoot my own Vegas photographs and what better place than the Scion United event in Boulder City. The massive event featured all kinds of free gear and activities, 1,000 guests (Scion owners) 100 degree heat and some serious performances by Redman and Flow-Rida. Scion's slide show:
From Lake Powell to Las Vegas as on-site producer for Italian Marie Claire Magazine. I witnessed some amazing photos taken by Rennio Maifredi and can't wait to see the issue. Don't be deceived by this photo however... moments of free time were few and far between.
Back at it after a short hiatus was the Scion house party with some great stuff from 120 days, Radioclit and Franki Chan who opened it up on the turntables. Check my slide show to see all the action.
