8/19 Sara B Tour Day 2

Day 2 began in beautiful Toronto at an amphitheater on the water. There was a fair nearby so more rides ensued. Photos above include Sara, her mom and Javier enjoying the "Euro Slide," Trey looking excited about his Iced Tea, Adam Duritz introducing Sara as he did nearly every show, Sara, Josh and Javier performing, and the Toronto skyline at sunset. Highlights of the day included a sunset dinner on the patio with Counting Crows music gently toying w/ our ear drums and a great venue and crowd. SLIDE SHOW:

8/18 Sara B Tour Day 1

I flew into Buffalo New York and met up with the band at a 6 flags amusement park where the venue was located. One of the perks of performing at a 6 flags is the rides, including a ferris wheel and a sweet roller coaster. After 3 great performances the night ended with a surreal thunder and lightning storm that drenched the sound techs and created some cool white blasts in an otherwise black sky (see roller coaster above). Meet the band from 3rd photo down: Sara, Javier, Josh and Daniel (btw, I apologize for the watermarks but had to add them for security purposes). SLIDE SHOW

6/28 Cheshire Block Party

I got a message from my friend Aras about an upcoming block party to celebrate the arts and had no idea what was in store when I showed up to photograph. An amazing group of talented and beautiful people (volunteers and guests) were all raising money for the Cheshire Project, which is basically a summer camp for those with disabilities. Watching Damien Rice perform an acoustic song with background singing from the campers and seeing everybody dancing and singing together helped reaffirm that there is a lot of good in this world after all.

6/3 Raining Jane CD Release Party @ Molly Malone's

Raining Jane rolled back to LA after 5 months on the road for their CD release part at Molly Malone's. The last time I photographed them was in Boston at the end of our 10 day stint in Sara Bareille's tour bus and it was great to see them all again, feel the positive energy and hear the great music. The rest of the lineup included The Rescues and Jesse Payo. Slide show:

6/1 Ixaya School Benefit and Fundraiser

Izzy from the art crew The Bagavagabonds contacted me about photographing his girlfriend's charity event Sunday night. I quoted him a price and headed straight to King Kings after the Scion auction to document the event for them. After watching the videos about the school and seeing all the generous and amazing people who were donating to help out these kids, I realized there was no way I could charge them for my services. The night ended beautifully with Ben Lee ending his set with an acoustic chorus of "We're all in this together" as the entire crowd sang along with him. Truly a touching evening. Slide show:

6/1 Scion Auction- It's a Beautiful World

Scion auctioned off 40 pieces of beautiful art at their latest art gallery auction in Culver City. DJ Matter blessed us with some tunes, Ian did his best impression of Vannah White, and free wine and appetizers kept the bidders happy as they battled over some of the most popular pieces. Slide Show:
