The second day of JP's workshop was a little more challenging. I was in the hotel lobby at 4:15am to pick up students and begin the trek to Joshua Tree for sunrise. We stayed out all day and I finally dropped off the van after 11pm and didn't get to sleep until after 2! But what a beautiful place to see the sun rise and set. I kept getting drawn back to the rocks on the right... a mother holding her baby? Heading back to Joshua tree this weekend, but this time to camp and relax (w/ camera of course).
I spent 4 days in Palm Springs area assisting for the photo festival (which is great if you get a chance to check it out) Monday, drove a 15 passenger van full of workshop students for John Paul Caponigro's digital landscape workshop down to the Salton Sea... When I had some free time to shoot I kept coming back to this rusting, golden slide buried in sand, inscribed w/ the quote "All Civilizations Fail." Below a student shoots by the sea at sunset.
Foundtrack, Puma, and DJ Jose Galvan (103.1) put together a sweet weekly party that started last thursday night. The first party featured a size 50 shoe, giant bottles of (free) glowing vodka, live painting, great music, and of course my photography. Hopefully I'll see you there next Thurs!
Foundtrack, Puma, and DJ Jose Galvan are putting together a weekly party at R Bar starting tonight at 9pm (free vodka from 9-10). R Bar is a great venue and the DJ's and crowd should provide good times. And photos.
Dogmatic brought me out to shoot behind the scenes photos of Faith Ford's online series, Mind.Body.Balance (which should be out in late April). Once they're out I'll post a link and photos. For now here's a teaser image of snacks that may or may not be featured in the show.
I spent two action packed days shooting behind the scenes for the new j'adore commercials and print ads. As soon as the ad is up I will post images (of one of my favorite actresses) but for now here is a photo of me hanging outside the set (and no, the ad campaign isn't based in TJ). Close-up:
It's not all fun and games (pub crawls, concerts, art galleries). I photographed 3 days of seminars for UCLA's William's Institute last week. Above, a supreme court justice from Nepal speaks to a packed crowd at the Freud Playhouse and an actress introduces day 2 of the seminar.

8 Brazilian artists blazed through Culver City sat night (led by Calma, above) and left in their trail a sea of dope art and good energy.
