2/3 Oprah rally @ UCLA

In an emotional Obama rally at Pauley Pavilion in UCLA, Caroline Kennedy gave opening remarks, followed by a great speech by Oprah, some powerful words by Michelle Obama, and surprise appearances by Stevie Wonder and Maria Shriver who both received thunderous applause. Janelle and I volunteered for the campaign and I took these photos while there.

2/2 OCMA gallery opening

The Orange County Museum of Art had a really cool gallery open Saturday called "Disorderly Conduct." Friend (and ISM editor) Kevin Staniec works for them now and I am hopefully going to shoot their next two openings as well. Slide Show:

1/31 Royal Elastic's Party

After wrapping up a 5 day production job on for a Lord and Taylor ad campaign I drove straight to Main Street for the grand opening of Royal Elastic shoes. Obama even made an appearance at this party! Slide show:

1/26 ISM Gallery Opening Photo Booth

ISM now has a sweet gallery in Long Beach where many of the magazine's featured artists are able to showcase their work. We set up a photo booth and I photographed everyone on their way into the opening. Slide show:

1/25 Bagavagabonds "Pop!" Party

The Bagavagabonds, art crew extraordinaires, threw their second themed party downtown, this one titled "Pop!" Slide show w/ some of the art, musicians, DJ's and party peeps.

1/9 Scion House Party- The Red Chord + Baroness

I drove from my OC portrait session with Nick to a metal concert sponsored by Scion in Corona, CA. The Red Chord brought out a crazy group of fans and a dangerous looking mosh pit! Full on punches, elbows and kicks were flying and at least one person was carried out unconscious. Needless to say I spent most of my time shooting from the safety of a staircase above the stage! For my second ISM editorial portrait I photographed Nick Burgess in his company's (Torsion Fabrics) studio. He was really chill and they design and create some sweet shirts so I look forward to seeing the article in next month's magazine. More photos here:

1/5 Gram's 90th Bday Party

I was hired on referral from Partner's In Care to shoot "Gram's" 90th birthday party in Pasadena. I set up a portrait session of Gram with the family beforehand and shot some event photos during the party as well. Slide show:

1/2 ISM Editorial Portrait- Cari

I photographed Cari Marshall for ISM Magazine's upcoming issue. Cari is very involved in the art community and is a founder of the Progressive Dinner Party. We took photographs in her house since she's just about to move into a new office.

12/28-1/1 Newbs and Julie's Baja Wedding

Brian and Julie brought us out to Baja for an awesome 4 day adventure involving their beautiful wedding, a bonfire dinner, New Years Eve party, beach football, golf, and lots of jacuzzi and laying out in the 80 degree sun. I took some photos for fun while there and you can see them here.
