3/31 Day 2 of assisting @ the PSPF Workshop- Joshua Tree

The second day of JP's workshop was a little more challenging. I was in the hotel lobby at 4:15am to pick up students and begin the trek to Joshua Tree for sunrise. We stayed out all day and I finally dropped off the van after 11pm and didn't get to sleep until after 2! But what a beautiful place to see the sun rise and set. I kept getting drawn back to the rocks on the right... a mother holding her baby? Heading back to Joshua tree this weekend, but this time to camp and relax (w/ camera of course).

3/30 Palm Springs Photo Festival (assisting JP Caponigro)

I spent 4 days in Palm Springs area assisting for the photo festival (which is great if you get a chance to check it out) Monday, drove a 15 passenger van full of workshop students for John Paul Caponigro's digital landscape workshop down to the Salton Sea... When I had some free time to shoot I kept coming back to this rusting, golden slide buried in sand, inscribed w/ the quote "All Civilizations Fail." Below a student shoots by the sea at sunset.

3/26 Thursdays at R Bar

Foundtrack, Puma, and DJ Jose Galvan (103.1) put together a sweet weekly party that started last thursday night. The first party featured a size 50 shoe, giant bottles of (free) glowing vodka, live painting, great music, and of course my photography. Hopefully I'll see you there next Thurs!

Tonight (Thurs, March 26th) at R Bar

Foundtrack, Puma, and DJ Jose Galvan are putting together a weekly party at R Bar starting tonight at 9pm (free vodka from 9-10). R Bar is a great venue and the DJ's and crowd should provide good times. And photos. 

3/19-3/20 Behind the Scenes for Mind.Body.Balance

Dogmatic brought me out to shoot behind the scenes photos of Faith Ford's online series, Mind.Body.Balance (which should be out in late April). Once they're out I'll post a link and photos. For now here's a teaser image of snacks that may or may not be featured in the show.

3/17-3/18 Behind the Scenes for Christian Dior

I spent two action packed days shooting behind the scenes for the new j'adore commercials and print ads. As soon as the ad is up I will post images (of one of my favorite actresses) but for now here is a photo of me hanging outside the set (and no, the ad campaign isn't based in TJ). Close-up:

3/11 - 3/13 William's Institute Seminars

It's not all fun and games (pub crawls, concerts, art galleries). I photographed 3 days of seminars for UCLA's William's Institute last week. Above, a supreme court justice from Nepal speaks to a packed crowd at the Freud Playhouse and an actress introduces day 2 of the seminar.

3/7 3rd Annual Urban Iditarod for LA Weekly

Urban Iditarod LA #3. This year I decided to drink and 'mush' w/ the crowd (while also snapping a few photos) Check my photo gallery in LA Weekly for some more of the chaos. Also, check out last year's Iditarod slide show.

3/6 Sao Paulo Art

I headed back to the Scion gallery friday to get photos of the empty gallery and artwork. Take a tour yourself if you missed it or want to revisit the pieces.

3/5 Resident Evil Preview Party for Metromix

2/28 Scion Gallery- Sao Paulo

8 Brazilian artists blazed through Culver City sat night (led by Calma, above) and left in their trail a sea of dope art and good energy. 2/26 'Hipster or Homeless' for Metromix

Metromix sent me out to document a new party at the Medusa Lounge in Silverlake. Unfortunately I didn't encounter many 'homeless' but a good time nonetheless. Gallery on Metromix:

2/18 Scion House Party- Rusko

Rusko teamed up w/ 3 other DJ's (Congo Rock, AC Slater and 12th Planet) at the latest Scion House Party @ The Roxy. It was a packed house and, as always, a great party. Gallery:

2/14 Lucent L'Amour Festival for Metromix

Lucent Dossier and Z-Trip (both featured above) Adam Freeland and many more rocked Valentines Day at the Lucent L'Amour festival. 1/2 rave, 1/2 burning man reunion, the costumes and performances were amazing. Check my gallery on Metromix:

2/14 "Carrie" Massacre at Fubar for Metromix

Metromix also had me cover the Valentine's Day massacre at Fubar which included a blood soaked transvestite prom queen in a Carrie re-enactment. It was definitely an experience! Gallery on Metromix:

2/12 DC Shoes MTV Premiere- Rob Drydek's 'Fantasy Factory'

DC Shoes sponsored the MTV premiere of Rob's new reality tv show "Fantasy Factory" which takes place in a sweet warehouse filled w/ skate parks, a giant trampoline and plenty of other potentially dangerous activities (which explains the release form i had to sign on the way in). I actually saw a photographer get landed on by a guy doing a back flip on a bike. Good times. Check Dub Daily for a few more of my photos and my gallery is coming soon.

2/8 Sara Bareilles at the Grammys

Sara B brought me along to document her first grammy experience (she was nominated for song of the year and best female pop vocalist). It was quite a day.

2/4 Scion Metal- Pig Destroyer

One of the most insane metal shows yet featured balcony stage diving and so much craziness on stage that at one point security backed off and decided it was every man for themself. Props to Pig Destroyer and Trash Talk for their energy.

2/3 Scion Easy 10 Film Premiere

I switched cameras and changed clothes (see entry below) before heading to Landmark Theater for Scion's VIP party and screening of their 10 sponsored indie films. The photos are featured in Vapors Mag and my Gallery.

2/3 Conquest Champagne Celebration

Conquest Housing (my first client ever) called me in to document a locker room style champagne celebration after the sale of their biggest building by USC. It was a night to remember and proved that all good things do come to an end.
