Sara Bareilles had me come out to shoot her two homecoming performances in Eureka, CA. I stayed w/ the band at her dad's house and tried to capture a little bit of home. Gallery here: Above: Sara at sound check, Javier Dunn tosses a ball at Sara's old house, Josh Day w/ a beer before the show, and the band's performance.

Fake Blood, Tommy Sunshine and Scotty B hit the Vanguard for the latest Scion house party. All 3 DJ's rocked it but Fake Blood tore the place down in his first LA performance. For photos of the DJ's and more crowd shots check the GALLERY
Above: People show dedication by waiting in the rain for the doors to open at the Scion Route "Chop Shop" screening before enjoying free beer and popcorn inside. A great film, then off to the Scion house party. GALLERY

Stacy Peralta's ("Dog Town and Z-Boys") amazing documentary about the Bloods and the Crips screened at the Stronghold and was attended by some of the original Z-Boys including Peralta himself who gave a Q+A. Check here to find out more about the film and here for my photo gallery.
Kevin Staniec and ISM Magazine came up with a cool project where talented artists created pieces about broken hearts. I photographed all of their art to be published in a book called "Untitled Love" along w/ short stories about their heartbreak. Here are two images from Saturday's book opening/signing at friend Evan Cerasoli's gallery (w/ more to come hopefully).

Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson (with Mai Bloomfield on cello) performed their amazing new song "Winter Song" together on Leno last night and I captured a few behind the scenes moments (my camera wasn't allowed anywhere near the stage). Here is a portrait of Sara and Ingrid in Sara's dressing room. Here's a gallery of photos and here is the Winter Song music video and performance (skip to 39:30).

Elina (writer for LATimes) and I jumped on one of 5 buses full of Santa Clauses, elves and Santa's Helpers and rode along the wild ride that is the Santacon pub crawl. Check the article and photo gallery on LATimes.com. And in case you 'Digg' it. CHECK THE 2010 EDITION on laweekly.com!

After 16 hours working on location I rolled to Royal on Main to cover the closing party for Rony's PhotoBooth. Giant pandas, fire engines and stretchers, DJ's, dancing, free drinks. Just your typical Saturday night. Check it all out here (and happy thanksgiving also. we all have something to be thankful for so it's good to take a moment and reflect. and thanks to Sarah Palin for pushing the vegetarian cause with her recent brutal/strange interview).
FoundTrack threw their Fall '08 Release party at the R Bar downtown, featuring 4 DJ's, free grub and CD's, passwords and dancing. Check out my photos from the event and everything FoundTrack on their blog: foundtrack.blogspot.com Thanks to V and Nassir for the dope party and the shout outs on their site! You should check them out if you haven't already... good ish.

Big Geezers was by the far the craziest and most carnival-like Scion gallery opening yet. There were flying darts popping balloons, nerf guns, spinning wheels of fortune, a welcoming party for the early guests, and as always a good DJ and free drinks. See for yourself here: The photos are also featured on Vimby.com.

You can check out my Hardfest photos in galleries on LATimes.com and Metromix. Per popular request I also just added my own gallery w/ 300+ images from the event HERE! The photos should be in the order they were taken, so if you are looking for photos of you (or Justice) later in the night they will be toward the end. Enjoy.

The Orange County Museum of Art had their Biennial opening celebration last weekend, with all kinds of interactive art and artists as well as DJ's, food and a fun afterparty. Above Daniel Joseph Martinez' animatronic self portrait leaps to life with full body convulsions, causing some older OCMA patrons to yell to their significant others, "Is he alive? Honey, DO SOMETHING!"

I recently joined Tamar Levine's photo blog where one photographer gives a creative assignment each month and the rest shoot it and comment on each others images. This month was "Film as inspiration." I worked with stylist/model Camille Rousseau again and we got Dane to model for us well after a run in at a party the night before the shoot. To see the still we used as inspiration and two other images from the shoot check out: www.thisisaphotoblog.com
